Red Roof Inn & Suites Lake Charles

For me, this was perfect. Because I often travel with a dog, I’ve been staying in Red Roof Inns for 30 years. Their rooms are always OK. This one is more than OK, it is very nice. I’m happy to have discovered this place. It’s going on our list of regular stops when we’re driving back and forth on IH-10.

The room was decent and comfortable. They could do better with their breakfast, not much of a choice. Waffles and oatmeal were the only hot meals to choose from.

Nice place to stay. Clean property, clean room, very friendly staff. No pet fee for our dog. What more do you need for the price? The only negative is no reflection on the hotel itself, but on the parent company. When I went through their res system, there was an almost $50 unexplainable upcharge. I asked for an explanation, and I was told that it was for taxes and fees. I hung up and booked through Expedia (which I detest), and got the room at the advertised price. Good stay.

My husband and son stayed here for a work trip and they loved the room especially the chair that folds down in the bathtub. There were some loud guests above them but otherwise they loved it.

It’s like staying with family. The owners and staff are always so nice and helpful when I stay here. Ms Pat is a wonderful host and I recommend this hotel highly

The hotel and young lady are the check-in desk were extraordinary! Booking was horrific w/ David or Daniel (can't remember his name) & Ashley! Both were deceptive, rude, and very unprofessional. David confirmed my reservation without my permission. I found one price on the site. He confirmed it. Then gave me a Total that was nearly Doubled! All hell broke loose when I questioned him. Your term/policy says NO REFUND AFTER CONFIRMATIOM which he did Without MY PERMISSION! Then i asked for a Manager. Who comes to the phone? Ashley! That was an experience of a lifetime! God Bless!

This Red Roof Inn & Suites is a nice budget hotel, with some new renovations. They're located just off I-10 on LA 397 (Google Maps says E Ward Line Rd) on the east side of Lake Charles near the Chennault Intl. Airport. Their location is convenient as it's right off the Interstate. But the only other businesses you can walk to are a Mexican restaurant and a small casino. For anything else you'll need to drive. When I was there, they were having the lobby and breakfast area re-tiled. I'm sure it is done by now and looks great. I'm glad to see the owners keep investing into it to keep it nice. My experience with the staff was positive. I had booked through Expedia (that's how I found them), and had no issues. Both evening and morning staff were friendly, and helpful as I navigated around the tiling crew. My room was clean and comfortable. Nice pillows and linens. Basic room amenities included iron and ironing board, TV, wardrobe, sufficient outlets for electric devices. The bathroom had decent towels, hair dryer, essential toiletries. The parking lot was well lit. Still, I recommend keeping valuables out of sight. I had no problems. Pets are allowed. There is a pet area next to the pool. When I was there the pool needed some attention, but it could be because it was off season. The exercise room is no gym. You'll do better walking to the casino. I walked to the Mexican restaurant, so I probably sabotaged any health benefits from the walking. The hotel breakfast was typical "continental" basic but free. I take my own travel kettle and pour over coffee maker, but the room did have something to make coffee. The mini fridge worked. Some reviews complained of noise from the nearby railroad, but I did not hear it. I was there mostly to sleep, and I slept well. It's not fancy, nor a resort, not exceptional, but for what it is I recommend them and give them four stars. If traveling through the area, I'd stay here again.

Its a decent spot in a quiet secluded area. Check in was quick,but not without issue. The Bed sheets were absolutely filthy. Like somone had soiled the comforter and it went all the way to the sheets. What's nuts is that someone "cleaned" this room and thought it was Ok to leave this. This issue was promptly addressed by the woman who checked us in so shoutout to her. The rest of the room was actually fine so the bed sheet thing was puzzling. The room was somewhat updated,some of the bathroom fixtures had rust,but its not a big deal. The wifi is great,in room TV lets you use your own apps,ice machine works, and breakfast was great. Honestly we don't require much,but a clean room and decent amenities. We have this place marked as our spot when we are in the area again. It was a good stay overall.
